In 1992, J Alex Richardson joined the Attorney General's Chambers in Anguilla as a Crown Counsel. During this time he also acted from the time as Magistrate and Registrar of the Supreme Court. In 1994 he joined the Anguilla Financial Services Department as Deputy Director of Financial Services, where he worked as a financial services regulator in the offshore sector in Anguilla. He had responsibility for financial regulation and compliance of banks, trust companies, company mangers and insurance companies. During this time he also acted as Registrar of Companies. He has participated in Anguilla's worldwide marketing initiatives with respect to its offshore financial services sector.

Between 1998 to 2003 Alex Richardson headed the Anguillian office of a law firm based in the British Virgin Islands, where he advised on all aspects of the firm's local and international commercial practice and also managed its trust company. He has appeared as Counsel and Solicitor in several matters in the Magistrates Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. He is a Notary Public of Anguilla.

In 2003 Mr Richardson joined Sinel Trust Anguilla Limited as Chief Executive Office and Director. He is also Managing Partner of the newly established law firm of Richardson Sinel & Associates.

Mr Richardson obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the West Indies in 1990 and a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in 1992. From 1993 to 1994 he pursued studies at Kings College, University of London, leading to the award of a Master of Laws Degree in Corporate and Commercial Law. He was admitted to the Anguilla Bar in 1992 and to the BVI Bar in 1997.

Mr Richardson is President of the Anguilla Bar Association, Immediate Past President of the Anguilla Financial Services Association and Chairman of the Anguilla branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is a Member of the International Tax Planning Association and the International Bar Association.

His published works include contributions to "The OFC Report", "The Use of Offshore Jurisdictions", "Planning and Administration of Offshore and Onshore Trusts" and the "Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Yearbook".

An avid music lover, Mr Richardson is the writer of the National Song "God Bless Anguilla"
